Job summary

DNV Energy Systems is seeking a Senior Wind Energy Assessment Analyst to join our Wind Energy Assessment team in the United States and Canada. You will evaluate wind resources, energy production, project performance, and risk across the project lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, atmospheric scientists, and renewable energy professionals.

The role supports pre-construction and operational assessments, SCADA analytics, and related services for utility-scale wind projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
• Five (5) years of directly relevant professional experience in renewable energy, engineering consulting, data analytics, atmospheric science, or a related technical field.
• Experience performing wind resource assessments or energy production assessments.
• Familiarity with wind energy assessment methodologies and uncertainty analysis; interpretation of wind datasets (SCADA, towers, LiDAR, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; ability to write technical reports and present to non-technical audiences.
• Experience using AI to improve operational efficiency, innovation, customer outcomes and business performance.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically for meetings.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of wind resource and energy production assessments for utility-scale wind energy projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret meteorological, operational, and energy production datasets.
• Contribute technical expertise to pre-construction energy assessments, independent engineer assignments, and due diligence reviews.
• Partner with project teams to evaluate project performance, uncertainty, and risk factors.
• Support operational energy assessments using SCADA and production data.
• Prepare and review technical reports, presentations, and customer deliverables.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and participate in technical discussions.
• Support remote sensing and measurement campaign activities, including LiDAR and meteorological data analysis.
• Contribute to wake loss, site suitability, and performance assessment studies; support AI-driven enhancements.
