AES Clean Energy is seeking a Senior Owner’s Engineer to lead wind energy project design, development, and construction oversight for large-scale renewable projects. The role collaborates across finance, engineering, and operations to ensure quality and compliance.

Ideal candidates will bring 5+ years in wind project design and construction, with experience in debt/tax equity financing, and strong technical writing skills for due diligence documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering required; graduate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in wind turbine project design, development, and construction.
• Experience with wind project construction, quality control activities and investor site visits.
• Experience with debt or tax equity financing practices and terminology.
• Strong technical writing and ability to communicate to non-engineering audiences.
• Good project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Familiarity with NEC/NESC codes and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Represent AES Clean Energy on wind, solar, and energy storage projects for project finance and engineering efforts.
• Promote safety for all projects and onsite activities.
• Support Origination, Procurement, Development and M&A teams with technical inputs.
• Draft and edit contracts around technical requirements.
• Review production estimates and site suitability for wind turbine installations.
• Coordinate with AES CE project teams to ensure high-quality project delivery across the portfolio.
• Review engineering plans and related documentation for comments and approvals.
• Assist with IE reports, site visits, and construction supplements in collaboration with finance.
• Support operating facilities for efficiency and performance improvements.
• Assist in root-cause-analysis and risk mitigation related to engineering items.
• Coordinate IE selections and ensure scope of services aligns with financing needs.
• Lead engineering modeling efforts related to financial models (WTG costs, O&M).
• Coordinate with legal and IE on certificate forms and compliance documents.
• Ensure timely IE report issuances and site visit coordination with EPCs and investors.
