Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Owner's Engineer to lead engineering and due diligence for large-scale wind energy projects up to 1000 MW, with potential solar and storage work. The role involves coordinating with finance teams, independent engineers, and EPCs, ensuring quality and reliability from development through operations.

Remote work is possible, or based in Salt Lake City, UT or Louisville, CO, with up to 20% travel to project sites and partner offices.

Qualifications

• Undergrad degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years in wind turbine project design, development, and construction.
• Experience with wind project construction, QC activities and investor site visits.
• Experience with debt or tax equity financing practices and terminology.
• Strong technical writing and ability to communicate complex topics.
• Project management skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Familiar with NEC and NESC code (and related IBC/NFPA 855).
• Graduate degree in Engineering and professional engineer qualification are a plus.
• WTG climb training or safety certification and OSHA 10-hr are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Represent AES Clean Energy on wind, solar and energy storage projects and support project finance and engineering efforts.
• Promote safety for all projects onsite and across teams.
• Support Origination, Procurement, Development and M&A with technical requirements and site evaluations.
• Coordinate with project teams to review plans, perform QA/QC, and ensure compliance with AES standards.
• Support operating facilities for efficiency and performance improvements; participate in RCA when needed.
• Coordinate with Structured Finance and Independent Engineers on due diligence and reports.
• Lead engineering modeling initiatives related to financial projections and project milestones.
