Job summary

Deutsche Windtechnik in the United States seeks a Senior Wind Electrical Technician to lead advanced electrical troubleshooting and live-site maintenance for wind turbine generators. You will oversee teams on-site, perform preventive and corrective work, and ensure compliance with safety standards while maintaining strong customer relations.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical direction, and in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and HV configurations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; an associate degree is a bonus, but not required.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Wind Turbine Technician.
• Valid driver’s license (NON-CDL or CDL).
• Ability to read and interpret documents, and follow instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, given proper instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations.
• Must pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
• The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds.
• Employees must be physically fit to climb 300 ft with climbing gear and work in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Lead/perform routine preventive and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines.
• Assist and help lead large corrective teams with major component replacements.
• Recognize wind turbine error codes and report issues.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards; follow company policies.
• Collaborate with teams to feedback on operations and maintenance.
