Job summary

Deutsche Windtechnik in Amarillo, TX is seeking an experienced Wind Technician to support mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, troubleshooting on-site wind turbines and ensuring safe, reliable operation.

You will develop maintenance diagnostics strategies, perform routine and corrective maintenance, manage safety protocols, and complete required paperwork to maintain turbine availability and performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree is a bonus.
• 5+ years of experience as a Wind Turbine Technician.
• Valid driver’s license (non-CDL or CDL).
• Ability to read and interpret documents and follow instructions.
• Must be physically able to climb tall towers and lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairs on-site.
• Develop strategies for improved maintenance diagnostics and operations.
• Generate and complete all relevant paperwork and checklists.
• Recognize wind turbine error codes and report issues appropriately.
• Direct wind field operations within assigned contractual scope.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping; ensure timely financial reporting and turbine availability.
