Job summary

1898 & Co., part of Burns & McDonnell, is seeking a wind advisory leader to drive technical execution across the project lifecycle. You will supervise engineering and due diligence for wind assets, assess siting and grid interconnections, and develop client-ready analyses.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree with 7+ years of related experience; PE preferred. Travel up to 20% and collaboration across disciplines are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; 7 years related experience required.
• Master's degree may substitute 1 year experience; preferred.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience with energy operations, planning, or consulting.
• Proven ability to lead engineers and analysts.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of wind advisory engagements across the project lifecycle.
• Lead independent engineering and technical due diligence for wind projects.
• Evaluate wind project design considerations including siting, layout, turbine selection, wake modeling, and balance of plant.
• Perform wind resource and energy production assessments, including resource data and performance uncertainty.
• Evaluate grid interconnection requirements and market dynamics affecting wind project viability.
• Support asset management and life-extension studies for existing wind assets.
• Develop technical memoranda, reports, and client-ready presentations.
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated wind energy solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
