Job summary

Construction Material Testing in North Carolina seeks a Senior Certified Welding Inspector III to lead welding quality across projects, writing and reviewing programs, supervising CWIs and Inspectors, and representing the company to engineers, owners, and officials on welding matters.

AWS SCWI is preferred; a CWI with eight or more years of documented inspection leadership is considered. You will write plans, supervise audits, review reports, and guide fabricators in code compliance.

Qualifications

• AWS SCWI or current CWI with 8+ years of welding inspection leadership.
• Experience writing welding quality programs for structural, industrial, or pipeline projects.
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1/D1.5/D1.8, ASME IX, and API 1104.
• Ability to write clear procedures that others can follow.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and approve welding quality plans and NDT procedures.
• Supervise CWIs and Welding Inspectors across projects and review their reports.
• Audit fabricators and erectors' welding quality systems.
• Witness or direct procedure qualification testing.
• Represent the company in welding quality reviews with engineers and officials.
