Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Senior Certified Welding Inspector III to be the welding quality authority on projects, writing and reviewing welding quality programs, supervising CWIs and welding inspectors, and approving procedures and welder qualifications.

The role audits fabricators, resolves disputed indications with engineers of record, and represents the company to engineers of record, owners, and building officials on welding matters; SCWI preferred; CWI with 8+ years leadership

Qualifications

• AWS SCWI or current CWI with 8+ years of inspection leadership.
• Experience writing welding quality programs for structural or pipeline work.
• Familiar with AWS D1.1/D1.5/D1.8, ASME IX, and API 1104.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and approve welding quality plans and NDT procedures.
• Supervise CWIs and Inspectors; review reports and calibrate calls.
• Approve WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications; witness QC testing.
• Audit fabricators/erectors' welding quality systems; qualify NDT subcontractors.
• Resolve disputed indications with engineers of record.
• Represent the company in welding quality reviews.
