Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Senior Certified Welding Inspector III to serve as the welding quality authority on projects. You will write and review welding quality programs, supervise CWIs and inspectors, and approve WPS/PQR and welder qualifications.

You will audit fabricators and resolve disputed indications, representing the company to engineers and officials on welding matters. The role requires current CWI with 8+ years of leadership in welding inspection; SCWI preferred.

Qualifications

• AWS SCWI, or current CWI with 8+ years of welding inspection including supervision of other inspectors.
• Proficient with welding codes AWS D1.1/D1.5/D1.8, ASME IX, and API 1104; NDT Level II/III in at least one method preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and approve welding quality plans and inspection procedures.
• Supervise CWIs and Welding Inspectors across projects and review their reports.
• Audit fabricators and erectors' welding quality systems; resolve disputed indications with engineers of record.
