Job summary
The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer for our Pewaukee, WI area. This on-site role leads robotic welding teams, develops welding procedures, and ensures code compliance for complex automation projects.
You will mentor technicians, review weld paths, and collaborate with design and quality teams to guarantee robust welds and defect-free assemblies. A strong background in welding codes and process control is essential.
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years in welding engineering, process leadership, or robotic welding roles.
- WPS/PQR development, qualification, and defect resolution in production or automation settings.
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX codes.
Responsibilities
- Act as technical lead for Robotic Welding Technicians, troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, and review robot weld programs.
- Develop and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and welding parameters for new materials and configurations.
- Evaluate fixtures, cell layouts, and tooling for access and repeatability in automated welding.
- Investigate nonconformances, implement corrective actions, and ensure code compliance.
- Support project estimating with weld feasibility, cycle times, and equipment needs.
- Assist in integration, commissioning, and field startup support.
