Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Principal Welding Engineer to support welding requirements for nuclear power plant fabrication, erection, and maintenance. The role reports to the Lead Engineer of Welding Technologies and is hybrid with 2 days on-site at Rock Hill or Cranberry Township, PA. You will review specs, guide fabricators, review weld maps and WPS/PQR, provide materials engineering support, and participate in constructability reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in welding engineering with nuclear construction/fabrication experience.
• Strong knowledge of AWS/ASME codes and welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review contract, design, and regulatory requirements to develop welding specifications.
• Provide guidance to fabricators for compliance with project welding requirements.
• Review supplier documentation to ensure conformance with project requirements.
• Mentor engineers in welding and related disciplines.
• Support design reviews and input to engineering specifications.
• Travel to suppliers for welding program activities.
