Job summary
Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer for our Rock Hill, SC facility. You will develop design changes for Balance of Plant systems in nuclear power plants, perform uprate evaluations, and resolve complex technical issues with a cross-functional team.
This hybrid role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager of Nuclear Plant Mechanical Engineering; relocation is not provided. Related duties include mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with internal/external
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- DOE/ASME standards knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop design change packages following SDP and plant-specific processes for US and international nuclear power plants.
- Support engineering reports for US power uprates in the Balance of Plant area.
- Resolve technical issues for operating nuclear power plants; may involve new plants and fuel fabrication facilities.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including electrical and civil/structural engineers.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project teams and customer/vendor meetings.
