Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Co in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Principal Civil Structural Engineer to support civil and structural design activities for building structures, including evaluation of steel, reinforced concrete, and composite systems. You will report to the Manager of BOP Design and Module Fabrication Support in Building Engineering & Physical Design and work a hybrid schedule.

The role involves design verification, site visits, issue resolution, and on-site support across projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 8+ years of civil/structural experience.
• Familiar with ANSYS, LS-DYNA, GTSTRUDL.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, and buildings, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Evaluate structural systems like steel members, reinforced concrete, composite steel.
• Resolve technical issues for building structure design, fabrication, assembly and construction phases.
• Technical justification for design changes and emergent issues and troubleshooting.
• On-site support at utilities, sites and smaller projects.
• Use ANSYS, LS-DYNA, GTSTRUDL.
• Maintain software compliance records and closure of engineering corrective actions.
