Job summary

Connectly Recruiting is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer for an on-site role in Pewaukee, WI. The role focuses on leadership of Robotic Welding Technicians and hands-on process mastery across GMAW, GTAW, robotic arc welding, and laser welding.

You will develop welding procedures, qualify WPS/PQR, and ensure strict code compliance. Occasional travel for commissioning and client integration is possible; 1st shift, Monday–Friday, direct-hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; 5–8+ years welding engineering experience.
• Deep capability in GMAW, GTAW, robotic arc welding, and laser welding metallurgy.
• Proven track record developing WPS/PQR and resolving weld defects.
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 and ASME IX codes; US citizen or green card holder; local commute to Pewaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for Robotic Welding Technicians with hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Develop, document, and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and parameters for new materials and automated processes.
• Evaluate fixtures and cell layouts with design engineers for access and repeatability.
• Investigate nonconformances, implement corrective actions, ensure code compliance across builds.
• Provide technical input on project estimating regarding weld feasibility, cycle times, and equipment needs.
• Assist with robot commissioning and process validation; occasional client-site travel.
