Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer – Automated Systems, AWS D1.1 & Code Compliance, to lead robotic welding efforts on-site in Pewaukee, WI. This role requires 5–8+ years in welding engineering, deep GMAW/GTAW/laser capabilities, and hands-on mentorship of Robotic Welding Technicians.

You will develop welding procedures, qualify welding programs, and ensure strict code compliance while collaborating with engineering and quality teams on diverse automation projects.

Qualifications

• Requires 5–8+ years of welding engineering experience in production or automation environments.
• Demonstrated track record developing, qualifying, and documenting welding procedures (WPS/PQR).
• Practical knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME IX codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead Robotic Welding Technicians and provide hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Develop, qualify, and document Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) for new materials and joints.
• Review robot weld paths and partner with design engineers to optimize fixtures and cell layouts.
• Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX across complex automation projects.
• Support project quoting with technical input on weld feasibility and cycle times.
