Job summary

Management Performance Associates is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer – Automated Systems in the Pewaukee, WI area. This supervisor-level role focuses on weld process development, code compliance, and mentorship of Robotic Welding Technicians.

You will lead welding procedure qualification, review robot weld paths, and ensure builds meet AWS D1.1 and ASME IX requirements. On-site, with occasional customer travel, 1st shift.

Qualifications

• Requires 5–8+ years of welding engineering experience in production or automation environments.
• Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and resolve complex weld defects.
• Familiar with AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX standards.
• Experience mentoring Robotic Welding Technicians and leading technical teams.
• US citizenship or green card holder with Pewaukee-area commute.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for Robotic Welding Technicians and perform hands‑on troubleshooting.
• Develop, document, and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and parameters for new materials and joints.
• Evaluate fixtures, cell layouts, and tooling with design engineers for optimal access and repeatability.
• Investigate nonconformances, implement corrective actions, and ensure code compliance.
• Support project estimating with weld process feasibility, cycle times, and equipment needs.
• Assist with equipment integration, robot commissioning, and startup support at client sites.
