Job summary

Essenti Talent in Pewaukee, WI is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer to lead robotic welding efforts in automated systems, ensuring AWS D1.1 and ASME IX code compliance.

You will develop WPS/PQR, mentor Robotic Welding Technicians, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to deliver defect-free builds on-site.

This role offers a first shift, on-site work, and opportunities for process leadership and advanced automation integration.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of welding engineering experience in production or automation environments.
• Develop, qualify, and document Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS/PQR).
• Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX codes.
• US citizenship or Green Card holder; able to commute to Pewaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for Robotic Welding Technicians and perform hands-on troubleshooting.
• Develop, document, and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications and welding parameters.
• Review robot weld paths and collaborate with design engineers on fixtures and cell layouts.
• Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 and ASME IX, plus customer specs; support defect investigations.
• Assist project estimating with weld process feasibility and cycle times.
• Support integration and commissioning of new equipment on-site.
