Disney Cruise Line - The Walt Disney Company is seeking a senior software architect to define and execute long-term technical strategies for Disney’s brand sites. You will drive architectural standards, mentor engineers, and own system reliability across cloud-based services while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, strong web and AWS expertise, and the ability to communicate complex tradeoffs to stakeholders.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience as a software engineer or architect.
Strong command of web architecture principles including HTTP, DNS, caching, and API paradigms (REST/GraphQL).
Hands-on experience developing and maintaining high-volume distributed services on AWS.
Proven ability to drive technical decisions across teams and communicate complex tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Technical Strategy & Planning: Define and execute a long-term technical strategy across all brand sites with focus on reliability and observability.
Architecture & Standards: evangelize paved-paths architecture and engineering standards.
Collaboration & Mentorship: provide guidance and design reviews; mentor senior engineers and collaborate with engineering leads.
System Integrity: ensure performance, scalability, and resiliency of cloud-based services.
Compliance & Risk Management: manage technical risks for critical site projects.
