Job summary

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Lead Product Software Engineer (DevOps) in Glendale, CA to drive web infrastructure strategy, ensuring reliability and scalable delivery across brand sites. Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer or architect.
• Strong command of web architecture principles incl. HTTP, DNS, caching, and API delivery (REST/GraphQL).
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining high-volume distributed services on AWS.
• Proven ability to drive technical decisions across multiple teams and communicate tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a long-term technical strategy across all brand sites with focus on reliability, observability, and business priorities.
• Research, evangelize, and drive adoption of paved-paths architecture patterns and engineering standards.
• Provide high-level technical guidance and mentoring to senior engineers; conduct design reviews with cross-team collaboration.
• Take accountability for platform performance, scalability, and resiliency of cloud-based services.
• Influence technical planning, including managing risks for critical site projects.
