Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking a senior front-end engineer to lead feature development for Yahoo Mail's web platform, embracing AI-first workflows and scalable architectures.

You will own components end-to-end, from design to production monitoring, in a hybrid, globally distributed environment. You will mentor engineers, review code, and collaborate with product managers, UX, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-impact user experiences at scale.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering (or equivalent) with 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in Data Structures, Algorithms, Software Architecture, and Web Performance Optimization.
• Deep technical command of modern web frameworks (React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript) and modern styling methodologies (Atomic CSS, CSS3).
• Hands‑on proficiency with AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code).
• Experience writing structured prompts and evaluating AI-generated outputs for production code.

Responsibilities

• Feature Leadership & Delivery: Define, design, develop, and ship high-impact features for Yahoo Mail web products, owning end-to-end delivery from architecture to production monitoring.
• AI-First Workflow Orchestration: Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate implementation while maintaining code quality and security standards.
• Lifecycle Optimization: Implement AI-driven efficiencies across the software development lifecycle.
• Technical Judgment & Oversight: Balance AI outputs with rigorous manual review for security and performance.
• High-Scale Impact: Take end-to-end ownership of Yahoo Mail web components at massive scale.
• Quality & Collaboration: Conduct thorough code reviews and collaborate with PMs, UX, and cross-functional teams.
• Operational Excellence: Write clean, testable code and deploy, monitor, and maintain large-scale production systems.
• Mentorship & Innovation: Guide engineers and evaluate new tooling to keep the team at the technical forefront.
