Job summary

Carnegie seeks an Associate Director, Web Content to lead large website content projects for our higher education partners. You will build content strategy and writing plans, managing a team of freelance writers and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables.

You’ll review freelancer work, onboard talent, and develop AI-assisted workflows to enhance speed and quality. This role supports remote collaboration and cross-team process improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent life/work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in professional writing and/or SEO and AEO.
• Strong editing and grammar skills, with close attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Experience with content management systems like WordPress or Drupal.
• Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and keyword research tools.
• Higher education marketing experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication and time management skills for a remote team.
• Comfort learning and switching between multiple technology platforms on a regular basis.
• Ability to work at a computer for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead large website content projects for Carnegie’s higher education partners; build strategy and writing plans for large website redesigns.
• Manage workflows, timelines, revenue recognition schedules, and reporting.
• Onboard freelancers and assign content with clear direction and deadlines; review content and prepare final client deliverables.
• Write on-brand, search-optimized website content and metadata; perform keyword research.
• Write blogs, case studies, and white papers, and run webinars; research new industry topics; lead trainings.
