Job summary

AvonRisk, the nation’s leading specialty risk manager for self-insured organizations, seeks a Claims Manager to lead a claims unit of Specialists and Assistants in California. You will coach, review performance, and ensure compliance with Labor Code rules while guiding case settlements and process improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of progressive claim experience, with strong leadership and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college; 5+ years progressive technical claim experience.
• Ability to supervise, guide settlements, and negotiate effectively.
• Strong leadership, project and people-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely performance reviews for personnel in the unit.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and performance feedback.
• Maintain files and records for claims and unit processes.
• Ensure all claims are handled per statutes and company rules.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain teamwork and efficiency.
• Conduct quarterly audits of inventory for accuracy and process improvements.
