Job summary

AvonRisk, a leading risk management firm, seeks a Claims Manager to oversee a team of Claims Specialists and Assistants. You will coach staff, mentor performance, and ensure claims handling complies with Labor Code rules and company standards.

Reporting to the Claims Manager, you’ll drive audits, support client needs, and maintain professional client relations while fostering teamwork across departments and leadership development within the unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
• Five or more years of progressive technical claim experience.
• Ability to negotiate settlements effectively.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the timely completion of performance reviews for all personnel within the assigned unit.
• Provides monetary approval authority up to assigned authority level.
• Maintains selected files on personal diary including high-value and complex files.
• Provides information, reports and logs to clients as required.
• Coaches, mentors and gives performance feedback to unit personnel.
• Ensures claims are handled per statutes and company rules.
• Addresses personnel issues promptly and informs manager of actions.
• Projects a professional image on behalf of the company.
• Develops supervisor backup from within the team.
• Conducts quarterly audits to ensure accuracy and improve processes.
