Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a talented Senior Project Engineer to support our Water/Wastewater practice across the New England area. This hybrid role can be based in Greater Boston, Providence, RI, or Glastonbury, CT, with occasional travel to local offices.

Responsibilities include leading project teams, coordinating design disciplines, and delivering technical solutions for drinking water and wastewater projects. A PE license or progress toward licensure is required. Eligible for annual bonuses.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
5+ years of drinking water, water supply, or wastewater design experience.
Registered Professional Engineer or pursuing licensure within one year.
Strong writing skills for memos, reports, proposals, and contracts.
Willingness to supervise and train junior staff.
Ability to coordinate multiple disciplines and outside consultants.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Assist Project Manager with planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
Monitor budgets and weekly performance; manage sub-consultants' scopes and fees.
Lead technical solutions and design coordination among disciplines and subs, under PM guidance.
Develop proposals, schedules, and fee estimates for large or complex projects.
Attend client meetings and prepare oral presentations; support construction administration and project closeout.
Ensure quality control and alignment with contract terms and corporate priorities.
May manage a direct report and contribute to performance reviews.
