Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Lead Process Engineer to drive design and execution of municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects across North America. You will lead the process discipline, select treatment options, and coordinate with mechanical, civil, electrical, and construction teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

The role requires 10+ years in water/wastewater process engineering, strong design-build experience, and ability to mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in municipal and industrial water/wastewater design and development.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience leading design-build/EPC projects.
• Strong regulatory knowledge for water treatment and discharge.
• Willingness to travel 25–40% when based in Lenexa or Lone Tree; remote locations possible

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for industrial water and wastewater facility design, including treatment process evaluation, selection, and optimization.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, process simulations, and equipment sizing calculations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective designs.
• Support business development and client proposals and cost estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and review progress.
• Present technology trends and project updates to clients and professional groups.
