Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Principal Water Engineer to lead municipal water treatment projects across North America. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams from process modeling through startup, ensuring safe, cost-effective designs that meet field needs.

As a senior technical voice, you’ll mentor engineers, shape design standards, and support pursuits with strong technical narratives and client presentations. Travel and relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years in process development, conceptual and detailed design for municipal/industrial water.
• PE registration preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 20–30% when in office; up to 50% for remote work arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for municipal water treatment design and technology selection.
• Serve as the technical authority for treatment process decisions and critical calculations.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers within the team.
• Establish and enforce water design standards and best practices.
• Oversee multi-disciplinary design teams and ensure quality control of engineering deliverables.
• Lead pursuit efforts, develop process narratives and basis of design documents.
