Job summary
Baxter and Woodman Inc is seeking a Senior Water Utility Engineer to join our Water Practice in Illinois. You will lead hydraulic modeling, master planning, and the design of potable water facilities for municipal clients, collaborating with internal partners and external stakeholders.
This role requires strong technical writing, travel across Illinois, and leadership of project teams, with responsibility for budgets and schedules to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of potable water system analysis and design.
- Proficient in potable water hydraulic modeling and master planning.
- Proficient with ArcGIS and WaterGEMS/InfoWater Pro.
- Experience delivering detailed water system design and plans.
- Willingness to travel across Illinois service areas.
- Excellent technical writing, verbal, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop hydraulic models of water distribution systems.
- Conduct advanced hydraulic modeling for infrastructure planning.
- Lead preparation of water system master plans.
- Evaluate and design potable water facilities and mains.
- Manage water distribution system study and design projects.
- Perform quality control reviews of water models and reports.
- Lead project teams of engineers and technical staff.
- Prepare plans and specifications for construction.
- Represent Baxter & Woodman at municipal meetings.
- Prepare competitive proposals and participate in interviews.
- Develop business in the Chicagoland area.
