Job summary

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Senior Water Utility Engineer to work in our growing Water Practice. Baxter & Woodman works with municipal clients on projects of all sizes, putting the client and the solution first.

This role leads hydraulic modeling, master planning, and design of potable water facilities, with coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders. Travel within Illinois and a hybrid work arrangement are supported.

Qualifications

• 4-year B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
• Illinois P.E. License required (or the ability to obtain through reciprocity).

Responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic models of water distribution systems.
• Conduct advanced hydraulic modeling to inform infrastructure planning and optimize operations.
• Lead preparation of water system master plans.
• Evaluate and design potable water facilities and water mains.
• Manage water distribution system study and design projects.
• Perform quality control reviews of water models, reports, and/or design.
• Lead teams of project engineers and technical support staff.
• Preparation of plans and specifications for construction.
• Represent Baxter & Woodman at municipal meetings.
• Prepare competitive proposals and participate in interviews.
• Develop business in the Chicagoland area.
