Baxter & Woodman Inc. is seeking a Water Utility Engineer I to design drinking water, wastewater, and related infrastructure in our Chicago (O'Hare), Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena, IL offices.

The role offers a path toward design, project management, team leadership, or business development within an established engineering firm. You will assist in planning and designing water and sewer systems, prepare plans and reports, and perform hydraulics analyses.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering and strong technical writing skills.
• Ability to lead project design activities and work with contractors.
• Excellent written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and design of municipal water distribution and sanitary sewer systems.
• Prepare plans, specs, cost estimates, and technical reports for utility projects.
• Design underground infrastructure using trenchless technologies.
• Support CIP planning through evaluation and budgeting.
• Perform hydraulic analyses and modeling for system improvements.
• Conduct field investigations and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
• Assist with rate studies, funding, GIS mapping, and large multidisciplinary projects.
