Job summary

The Texas Water Development Board invites applications for the Water Supply Planning Technical Lead (Engineer VI/Project Manager V) in Austin. This role provides technical leadership for statewide water supply planning, manages complex studies, and coordinates with regional providers, the Legislature, and external partners.

The ideal candidate has experience in hydrologic modeling, data management, and contract oversight; licensure as a Texas PE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the Water Supply Planning Division Technical Lead and senior advisor on engineering/technical matters.
• Establishes and facilitates advisory technical groups to promote early-stage collaboration among regional providers and river authorities.
• Identifies opportunities to develop excess water supply capacity and advance conveyance initiatives for the state.
• Coordinates stakeholders, develops meeting materials, and follows up on action items to support planning.
• Represents TWDB externally at meetings and with stakeholders, and manages technical reviews and contract oversight.
