Job summary

Austin Water, a department of the City of Austin, seeks a Senior Consulting Engineer to interpret and coordinate engineering assignments for major city programs. You will be the technical expert guiding complex projects and leading cross‑functional teams.

Required are a PE license (TX) or ability to obtain within 6 months, plus a strong background in civil/environmental engineering, budgeting, and contract management. On‑site work at Austin Water facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 8 years of engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Strong knowledge of civil, environmental, and related engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Develops technical specifications and standards for engineering projects.
• Reviews plans, contracts, and related documents.
