Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead water resources projects across California, including flood control, drainage, and hydraulic modeling. The role focuses on technical leadership, project delivery, and strong client engagement.

Ideal candidates will manage multi-disciplinary teams, develop proposals, and maintain workload projections while mentoring junior staff, in a firm celebrated for 110+ years of public infrastructure expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
PE licensure in CA.
14+ years of relevant experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with CAD and GIS.
4+ years of project and staff management.

Responsibilities

Serve as a project manager on larger design and construction projects.
Serve as a technical leader or management leader within the Water Resources sector.
Perform and oversee complex engineering tasks including designs, reports, drawings, specs, and calculations for water distribution systems (pump stations, tanks, mains).
Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles and standards.
Develop proposals and budgets for larger engineering efforts.
Meet with clients to determine scope, staffing, and fees for review and signature.
