Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Senior Project Manager in California to lead water resources projects, with emphasis on pump stations, tanks, and transmission mains. The role involves technical leadership, client engagement, and project oversight across design and construction phases.

The position aligns with experience equivalent to a Principal Engineer or higher, requiring CA PE licensure and strong communication skills. CAD/GIS proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• 14+ years of relevant experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a project manager on larger design and construction projects.
• Provide technical leadership within the Water Resources sector.
• Oversee engineering tasks including designs, reports, drawings, specs, and calculations for water distribution systems with focus on pump stations, storage tanks, and transmission mains.
• Review designs for compliance with engineering principles, standards, and contracts.
• Develop proposals and budgets for large engineering efforts.
• Meet with clients to define scope, staffing, and fees, and prepare for signature.
• Maintain client relationships before, during, and after project delivery.
• Mentor Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers.
