Job summary

BKF Engineers seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead water resources projects in California, with a focus on flood control, stormwater, and related infrastructure. The role requires deep technical leadership, client coordination, and program management across design and construction efforts.

The ideal candidate holds a CA PE license, 14+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. This is a senior-level position offering growth, mentorship, and leadership responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• 14+ years of relevant experience.
• 4+ years of project and staff management.
• PE licensure in CA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a project manager on larger design and construction projects.
• Serve as a technical leader or management leader within the Water Resources sector.
• Perform and oversee complex engineering tasks including designs, reports, drawings, specs, and calculations for water distribution systems with focus on pump stations, tanks, and transmission mains.
• Review product designs and drawings for compliance with engineering principles, firm standards, and client contracts.
• Develop proposals and budgets for larger engineering efforts.
• Meet with clients to determine scope, staffing, and fees for review and signature.
• Develop and maintain client contact before, during, and after project completion.
• Cultivate client relationships through industry groups and direct contract.
• Maintain three-month workload projections for all projects under personal management.
• Mentor and train Senior Project Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Project Managers.
