Job summary

Stantec seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in California, with Irvine as a possible location. You will lead control systems design for water and wastewater facilities, including PLC/SCADA/HMI planning, P&ID development, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.

Travel and project leadership may be required across sites. The role demands a BS in engineering, 10+ years of I&C experience, and a CA PE license (or reciprocity within 18 months).

Qualifications

BS in EE/ME/ChE required; MS preferred.
Minimum 10 years in instrumentation and controls.
CA PE license in Controls Systems or Electrical Eng, or reciprocity within 18 months.

Responsibilities

Lead I&C design and analyses for water and wastewater projects.
Develop P&IDs, control strategies, diagrams, and specs.
Coordinate with process, mechanical, and electrical teams.
Support construction including site inspections and commissioning.
Review submittals, shop drawings, and instrument datasheets.
