Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in New York City is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead day-to-day oversight of large rail transportation design-build projects within the regional PM/CM team.

You will provide strategic leadership and ensure safety, quality, and contract compliance across multi-disciplinary teams. The successful candidate will coordinate field activities, manage contracting interfaces, monitor schedule and cost, and drive project closeout with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive construction management or construction project management experience on large-scale transportation, rail, infrastructure, or complex facilities.
• Demonstrated experience managing construction activities in a design-build or similarly complex project delivery environment.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and administering construction contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple contractors, disciplines, stakeholders, and concurrent work activities in an active, safety-critical environment.
• Strong leadership, field coordination, decision-making, problem-solving, and issue-resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Proficiency in Microsoft Office; OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day oversight of design and construction activities for large-scale rail transportation design-build projects.
• Coordinate field activities among Design-Builders, subcontractors, consultants, operations personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor construction sequencing, site logistics, access requirements, work plans, and interfaces for safe, efficient delivery.
• Participate in, and direct progress, coordination and field meetings; document decisions and follow-up items.
• Identify field issues early and coordinate timely resolution with engineering, quality, safety, and controls teams.
• Provide directions to subordinate staff.
