Job summary

Cross River seeks a Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer to lead the Finance leadership team, reporting to the CFO, and scale financial operations in a fast-paced, technology-driven banking environment.

You will oversee governance, ICFR, consolidation, and SEC/regulatory reporting, manage tax and procurement, and build a 30+ person controllership group to support growth and potential IPO readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA required and 15+ years in accounting/controllership.
• At least 7 years in senior leadership managing multiple functions.
• Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and regulatory accounting for banking.
• Experience with FDIC-regulated banking and external audits (Big 4 a plus).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance financial governance, internal controls, and policies.
• Oversee ICFR design and SOX-equivalent rigor for a regulated bank.
• Lead lending reporting for marketplace, SBA, and financing activities.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and SEC reporting.
• Oversee tax, procurement, revenue management and ERP system initiatives.
