Job summary

Vise is seeking an experienced Accounting Lead to own core accounting operations, close processes, and financial reporting. The role partners with cross-functional teams to support scale and operational excellence in a fast-growing fintech startup.

Based in NYC; requires 4–7 years in accounting, GAAP knowledge, and hands-on mindset. You will drive internal controls, automate processes, and provide insights to leadership and the board.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years in progressive Accounting/Financial Operations, startup/fintech/SaaS preferred.
• End-to-end ownership of financial statement preparation.
• Advanced Excel skills and extensive accounting system experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with tax provision, audit, billing systems, or system implementations.
• Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own general ledger accounting including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Lead monthly and annual close with timely, accurate reporting.
• Manage accounts payable, credit cards, and employee reimbursements.
• Own QA for quarterly billing and collaborate with Engineering to scale billing.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Legal on new initiatives and analysis.
• Serve as contact for audits, tax filings, regulatory reporting.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and stronger internal controls.
• Provide financial insights and ad-hoc analyses for leadership and board.
