Job summary

RTC Communications is seeking a Voice Engineer to own architecture, lifecycle, delivery, and support of residential and commercial voice technologies. You will manage voice platforms, call routing, and related networks while guiding technicians and collaborating with customers and vendors to deliver reliable services.

The role requires strong knowledge of SIP/VoIP, hosted PBX, UC, and QoS, plus the ability to translate customer requirements into actionable configurations and project plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, networking, or telecom.
• At least five years in networking/voice/telecom, with two–three years telephony experience preferred.
• Experience designing and supporting residential/commercial voice solutions (VoIP, hosted PBX, SIP/IP trunking, UC, contact center).

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain voice architectures for residential/commercial services.
• Manage voice networks, signaling, dial plans, and end-to-end call routing.
• Maintain and administer voice platforms, monitoring tools, and vendor portals.
• Translate orders into configurations, schedules, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide leadership and escalation support to junior technicians.
• Support installation and troubleshooting of customer-premises voice and LAN/WAN gear.
• Improve service-delivery processes and documentation.
• Maintain accurate configurations, diagrams, inventories, and records.
• Foster vendor relationships and drive cost-reduction initiatives.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call support.
