Job summary

Associated Bank seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, automate, and support critical private cloud infrastructure, partnering with application and technology teams to improve deployment, performance, availability, and resilience. You will mentor engineers and shape technology direction while ensuring secure, reliable operations.

Required: 8+ years VMware experience, 5+ years Terraform IaC, CI/CD, Ansible, GitHub Actions, and containers, plus PowerShell and RESTful APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of experience with VMware portfolio (VCF, SRM, vSAN, NSX, HCX).
• 5+ years of experience with Terraform Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management such as Ansible, GitHub Actions, and container solutions.
• 5+ years of experience with PowerShell, HashiCorp HCL, RESTful APIs, YAML/JSON, and PowerCLI.

Responsibilities

• Design and automate private cloud infrastructure to support reliable, scalable applications.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, infrastructure, and communication issues; identify root causes.
• Automate testing, configuration, release, and deployment using IaC and DevOps practices.
• Monitor capacity, availability, and performance; recommend improvements.
• Maintain inventories, network diagrams, documentation and system records.
• Collaborate with service providers and teams to resolve issues and strengthen solutions.
• Support resilience by maintaining disaster recovery docs and participating in Business Resumption testing.
• Coach and mentor engineers, share knowledge, and shape technology direction.
