Job summary

Sandisk in Milpitas, California, is seeking an experienced VLSI Design Engineer to design, develop and evaluate chip architecture for high-performance NAND flash memories. The role includes creating and validating core circuits and performing simulations across block and chip levels.

The candidate will conduct mixed-signal design, supervise layouts, and collaborate with teams to push the boundaries of NAND device performance, while leveraging Cadence and HSPICE/FINESIM tools in a UNIX

Qualifications

Requires BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10 or more years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and/or experience in non-volatile memory design (NAND flash memory cell operation in particular) is a big advantage
A strong device background and experience with evaluating new process technologies for use in design is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, modify and evaluate chip architecture and core circuit structures for high-performance NAND flash and 3D NAND memories.
Design and conduct analysis on memory core circuits such as Row/Column drivers, decoder, sense amplifier.
Perform mixed/analog design to implement core operation interfacing circuits for core operation.
Validate design performance and functionalities via block and chip-level simulations using Cadence, HSPICE/FINESIM, UNIX.
Supervise layout work, support verification, and silicon bring-up throughout the design cycle.
Conceive new concepts and approaches in memory core design, architecture, and operation algorithms for best performing NAND devices.
