Job summary

Sandisk is seeking a memory systems design engineer in Milpitas to lead system design and firmware development for enterprise SSD products, focusing on NAND operation, testing, and validation.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with PETE, device, and design teams, plus driving cost/performance analyses and comprehensive reporting. Strong CAD-style hardware knowledge and coding in Python/C++ are valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer engineering with Masters/PhDs preferred, 5+ years for BS and 2+years for Masters/PhDs of related experience in 3D NAND device/design, SSD testing, NAND/SSD Failure Analysis
• Experience coding in Python or C++, Bash scripting as well
• NAND device/design experience is highly preferred
• Knowledge of hardware design and validation will be a plus

Responsibilities

• System Design & Firmware feature development for enterprise SSD products with knowledge of NAND operation/test modes to boost performance, endurance, and power
• System/component level testing & validation on test platforms including drive-level testing & contribute to integration efforts with cross-functional teams
• Supporting component and drive-level FA effort
• Review of product specifications, provide cost/performance competitive NAND memory solution, and generate comprehensive report with bold and justified conclusion
