Job summary

S2i2-Inc seeks a seasoned VMware Administrator to lead management of virtualized infrastructure across on-premises data centers and DoD/commercial cloud platforms. Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of progressive experience in managing and maintaining virtualized server environments and hosted applications.
• Active SECRET clearance with Tier 5 (IT-I, Critical Sensitive) eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Administer VMware vSphere and vCenter Server 8.x/9.x including installations, upgrades, patching, resource pool management, DRS/Storage DRS, switches, clusters, RBAC, certificates, licensing, and HA.
• Oversee ESXi 8.x/9.x hosts, networking and storage (vSAN, SAN, datastores, LUNs), host profiles, lockdown, and hardware upgrades.
• Manage vSAN 8.x/9.x hyper-converged infrastructure, storage policies, encryption, KMS, and file services.
• Provide technical support for Cisco UCS, Cisco HyperFlex, and Dell PowerEdge hardware.
• Provision and manage VMs across VMware, Azure, AWS, OCI, and GCP; perform OVF/OVA deployments, snapshots, migrations, cloning, templates, and performance tuning.
• Support DLA cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) with dynamic provisioning and cost optimization; monitor with automated alerts.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell, Python, YAML, and API calls; maintain scripts in the DLA repository.
• Monitor daily health checks, classify anomalies, and escalate per DLA protocols; ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and IA requirements.
• Provide on-call outage support, after-hours rotation, and two-hour response times; coordinate vendor case management until resolution.
• Participate in staff/project meetings and train DLA personnel as needed.
