Job summary

S2i2 Inc is seeking a seasoned virtualization engineer to lead DoD-focused infrastructure across on-prem and cloud platforms. You will manage VMware vSphere/vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN, ensure high availability, and implement security controls per DISA STIGs. Travel and after-hours support are required.

Qualified candidates bring 7+ years in virtualized environments, DoD clearance, and VMware VCP/VCAP or equivalent. Expect collaboration with DoD teams and ongoing modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• Seven years of progressive experience managing and maintaining virtualized server environments.
• Experience with large-scale multi-disciplinary projects (network, virtualization, systems administration).
• Active SECRET clearance and Tier 5 eligibility (IT-I, Critical Sensitive).
• DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification at IAT II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC).
• VMware certifications (VCP-DCV 2020+ or VCAP 2020+).
• Willingness for after-hours support and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead management of VMware vSphere/vCenter Server 8.x/9.x in hybrid DoD environments.
• Administer ESXi hosts, vSAN, storage, and networking configurations.
• Provide VMware Aria Suite and Cloud Foundation support for integrated management.
• Automate routine tasks with PowerShell, Python, and IaC.
• Provide incident response and after-hours support per SLA.
