Job summary

S2i2, Inc. seeks a seasoned virtualization administrator to manage on-prem and cloud infrastructure for DoD environments.

You will lead deployments, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of VMware and allied hardware, ensuring high availability, security, and efficient disaster recovery across a hybrid mix of platforms. Responsibilities include provisioning VMs across VMware, Azure, AWS, and other clouds, maintaining compliance with DISA STIGs, and driving automation using PowerShell, Python, and

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years managing virtualized server environments and applications.
• At least two years on large multi-disciplinary projects.
• Tier 5 / SSBI investigation completed for High Risk designation.
• Active SECRET clearance required.
• DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification at IAT Level II or higher.
• DoD VMware certification (VCP-DCV/VCAP) supported by DoD guidelines.
• Willingness for after-hours support and 2-hour response.
• Travel as approved by COR.

Responsibilities

• Administer VMware vSphere/vCenter Server 8.x/9.x including clusters, HA, DRS.
• Manage ESXi hosts and vSAN storage with proper networking and hardware coordination.
• Administer vSAN 8.x/9.x with encryption and KMS.
• Provide support for Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, Dell PowerEdge hardware.
• Provision VMs across VMware, Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud, GCP; perform deployments and migrations.
• Support DLA cloud IaaS/PaaS/SaaS with monitoring and cost optimization.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell, Python, and IaC; maintain scripts in shared repo.
• Perform daily health checks and incident management via ServiceNow.
• Ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and IA requirements; remediate vulnerabilities.
• Participate in after-hours support and vendor case management.
