Job summary

S2i2 Inc is seeking a highly experienced virtualization engineer to lead management of on‑prem and cloud-based DoD environments. You will drive upgrades of hosts, hypervisors, and virtual application software, ensuring availability, security, and integrity of all virtual resources across production and development tiers.

You will administer vSphere/vCenter, vSAN, Cisco UCS, and Dell PowerEdge hardware, while provisioning VMs across VMware, Azure, AWS, and GCP.

Qualifications

Minimum of seven (7) years' progressive experience managing virtualized server environments.

Responsibilities

Administer VMware vSphere and vCenter Server 8.x/9.x including clustering, DRS, vSAN, and networking.
Manage ESXi hosts, storage, and hardware upgrades for projects and tech refreshes.
Administer vSAN 8.x/9.x and related storage policies, encryption, and KMS.
Provide technical support for Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, and Dell PowerEdge hardware.
Provision and manage VMs across multiple cloud platforms and perform migrations & templating.
Automate routine tasks via PowerShell, Python, YAML, and IaC, storing scripts in a shared repo.
Perform daily health checks, triage anomalies, and escalate per policy.
Handle ServiceNow incidents, changes, and work orders with rapid resolutions.
Ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and IA requirements; monitor logs and remediate vulnerabilities.
Provide mission-critical outage support and vendor coordination; participate in after-hours rotation.
Attend meetings and provide training to DoD staff as required.
