Job summary

SES Corporation seeks a Virtualization Administrator II to manage and maintain the agency's virtualized IT infrastructure, spanning on-prem and cloud environments (Azure). You will oversee VMware/vSphere, hypervisor operations, and infrastructure automation to support secure, reliable services.

Responsibilities include architecture, upgrades, backups, disaster recovery, and mentoring junior staff, with hands-on work across VMware, AWS, Azure, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5-7 yrs leading virtualization administration.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in leading the management of VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.
• Automating IT administration and server provisioning through tools such as Azure DevOps, Azure Automation, Azure CLI, PowerShell, VMWare PowerCLI, and Terraforms.
• Integrating infrastructure tool APIs to enable the deployment of Infrastructure as Code integrated with CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architecture, complex troubleshooting, overseeing upgrades and migrations, implementing backup and disaster recovery, automation, and mentoring junior staff.
• Designing, building, implementing, and troubleshooting information systems hosted on VMware, AWS, and Azure
• Providing technical support for virtualization technologies and assisting with planning and execution of related projects
• Overseeing installation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual machines and infrastructure
• Monitoring performance and optimizing resource allocation for efficient operation
• Diagnosing and resolving virtualization issues including VM performance, connectivity, and security
• Maintaining documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies
• Working with other IT teams to integrate virtualization solutions with other systems
