Job summary

Clear Point Consultants seeks a Senior Media Player Engineer to lead reliable video playback experiences across streaming and connected devices in the United States. You’ll own performance, reliability, and cross‑platform consistency from HTML5 video to device platforms.

You’ll tackle buffering, crashes, memory and performance challenges, build telemetry and diagnostic tooling, and collaborate with backend teams to optimize delivery and observability across Roku, Android TV, Samsung Tizen, LG

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience in video, streaming, or media playback.
Strong hands-on experience with HTML5 video, HLS, and adaptive bitrate streaming.
Experience developing for connected-device platforms (Roku, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Android TV, Fire TV).
Understanding of video encoding, packaging, and streaming technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve video playback applications across web and connected-device platforms.
Work with HTML5 video, HLS, adaptive bitrate streaming, and media delivery.
Troubleshoot buffering, crashes, memory, and performance issues.
Build monitoring, telemetry, and diagnostic capabilities for reliability.
Collaborate with backend services and observability tools to understand system performance.
Test and optimize applications on real-world streaming devices.
Define technical solutions and improve platform architecture.
