Crunchyroll, LLC is seeking a Video Playback Services Software Engineer III to accelerate playback latency improvements and strengthen content protection. You will design backend services for secure video delivery, own end-to-end projects, and collaborate across product, QA, and engineering teams.

You will work on distributed systems in production, with a focus on scalable playback, security, and publishing workflows, reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager in Playback Services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development in backend services.
• Experience with TypeScript or Go in production.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS/GCP) and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve backend services and APIs for secure video playback.
• Own projects from design to deployment, balancing speed and quality.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and adjacent teams on features and ops.
• Contribute to content protection and security initiatives.
• Participate in on-call and incident response and improve reliability.
