Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a Sr Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist to cultivate strong carrier partnerships and manage dedicated carrier databases.

You will help find alternative carriers when needed and coordinate with internal teams to align sourcing processes and drive cost efficiency. The role requires experience in automotive logistics, carrier management, and Excel, with a focus on continuous improvement and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED is required.
• 3 years direct experience with customer service and/or operations.
• 5 years automotive industry and/or logistics experience.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in highly matrixed environments.
• Intermediate Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an advocate for our network of carriers.
• Form and maintain long lasting relationships with new as well as existing carriers.
• Leverage relationships across Ready Logistics internal and external partners to provide support and grow partnerships with existing contracted carriers.
• Responsible for remediating issues and addressing all escalations in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintaining database of carriers participating in dedicated volume events.
• Host orientation calls for newly onboard dedicated volume carriers.
• Proactively look for opportunities to drive additional savings outside of pre-determined sourcing areas.
• Negotiate rates with carriers to secure the most competitive price while maintaining alignment with established market rate baselines for the assigned lane.
• Lead conversations with carriers that are under review to have lanes/contract terminated.
• Maintain records for termination.
• Play key role in requirements gathering and carrier capability identification in new lines of business and delivery of new products and services.
• Provide weekly overview of the region's Wins, Opportunities & Threats
• Advocate continuous improvement and provide feedback and input into processes and systems enhancements to optimize workflows and introduce efficiency
• Serve as the 'Go To' subject matter expert for your area of responsibility and book of business
• Support ad hoc projects
